The Bleeding Blewit is a rare form of mushroom (clitocybe cruor) found mainly close to water in old growth forests. The mushroom is said to cause bleeding from the ears, nose, mouth, and sometimes eyes if more than one cap is ingested. Due to its rarity and this poisonous, yet non-lethal effect, its price was generally 250 Drakes (named for Raphiil the Red Drake). The caps were often used in torture, whether for information or for fun, and also for the formation of Gollems of Blood by the Lichmothists.
The Caps are a deep brown, mirroring several other local mushrooms, however the webbing underneath is a deep red. While these distinct caps can cause terrible pain, the stems are quite delicious and make for a tasty salad.
